THE POSITION
To build and maintain sales and business relationships with identified strategically important accounts within the Pets & Equine business segment.
This includes responsibility for budget achievement, promotion of the company, its products and its sales and marketing plans.
The role leads the account planning process and works alongside all functions of the business to ensure we meet or exceed the customer's needs whilst our business objectives are also met or exceeded.
Tasks & responsibilities
Core Responsibilities
- Ensures achievement of nominated sales and expense objectives for specified KAs, as determined by the National Business Manager – Key Accounts
- Ensures trade promotional expenditure (GTN) and other operating expenses stay within approved budget.
- Develops & implements key account business plans & activity grids for key accounts assigned.
- Demonstrate expert product knowledge and excellent interpersonal communications skills with internal and external stakeholders.
Customer Relations
- Effectively negotiates customer agreements (trading terms), contracts, promotions as required.
- Visit customers to build and maintain relationships
- Promote the Boehringer Ingelheim Animal Health product range using technical information, promotional material, and marketing campaigns to customers in an honest and ethical manner
Professional and Individual development
- Review and understand new or updated product-related information
- Attend and participate in company sales conferences, cycle meetings and training sessions
- Support, share, communicate and work with team members to improve individual and team sales effectiveness
Requirements
- Demonstrated experience in key account management in either FMCG, Consumer Healthcare or Animal Health with the ability to create strong rapport and build collaborative relationships.
- Strategic vision to plan both short and long term goals for accounts, which aligns to BIAH strategy.
- High level analytical skills through data manipulation and management
- Ability to highlight opportunities and gaps
- Strong commercial acumen that drives successful outcomes for BIAH
- Exceptional presentation, negotiation, and influencing skills
- Bachelor’s degree
