The Role: 

World Animal Protection aims to transform the systems that lead to animal suffering and in doing so, help to achieve a healthy and sustainable planet.

This dynamic role oversees the development and implementation of locally relevant and impactful campaigns in Australia and New Zealand that help to deliver the organisation’s global strategies while increasing World Animal Protection’s impact, influence and profile. Reporting into the ANZ Country Director, the Head of Campaigns manages the ANZ Campaign Team and motivates, empowers and enables team members to deliver campaign objectives, goals and impact. The role will be based in Sydney but may involve some interstate and international travel.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement and manage ANZ campaigns and ensure that they are consistent with, and contribute to, the organisation’s global strategies
  • Provide leadership, strategic guidance, campaign planning and management support to the ANZ Campaign Team
  • Contribute to the ongoing development of the organisation’s global strategies
  • Oversee campaign performance management and reporting for ANZ
  • Be a public spokesperson for World Animal Protection and its mission
  • Contribute to the ANZ Senior Management Team and its leadership of the organisation

 

Requirements: 

  • Proven experience in leading the design and development of high impact global campaign strategies that have achieved change
  • Strong experience in leading teams to deliver outstanding campaigns
  • Excellent project management and coordination and evaluation skills
  • First class analytical and decision-making skills, with the ability to analyse information quickly and accurately to effectively inform campaign tactics and strategies
  • A relevant tertiary qualification or, in the absence of such qualification, extensive experience in a related discipline
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to listen and thoughtfully summarise complex information in a range of different settings
  • Flexibility to travel domestically and internationally
  • Experience working with an international organisation (highly regarded)
  • High level of awareness of global and regional social, economic, political and environmental issues of relevance to animal welfare (highly regarded)
