About The Role
We are currently seeking a Graduate Animal Health Technician to assist the vet nutrition and production teams in the oversight of animal health, welfare and biosecurity systems and any associated training as part of the Graduate Program 2022. This position will be based throughout either our Victorian (Bacchus Marsh, Central Victoria) or South Australian farming regions (Murraylands & Riverland Yorke & Mid North, Adelaide Plains, Wakefield Plains, Light, Gawler and Barossa), reporting into the Veterinary & Nutrition Services Manager.
The role responsibilities include:
- On-farm support for pig health and welfare systems and strategic objectives
- Assist with development and use of information systems for the farm managers and vet nutrition teams
- Broad task areas of focus within pork production and would include:
- Pig Health and nutrition
- Welfare
- Biosecurity
- Animal health products – Inventory and on-farm use
- Pig Production
- Contribute to the overall culture and demonstrate a commitment to safety
About You
SunPork Group has established an efficient, highly skilled yet diversified team that is dedicated to producing high quality, sustainable welfare-optimal products. As a key member of this team, the successful applicant must have:
- Qualifications in Agriculture and/or Agricultural Science, Animal or Veterinary Science, or other Health/Science related
- Have a love for animals
- Enjoy working with new technologies including diagnostics & correction
- Ability to gather, interpret, analyse and present trends from data
- Excellent collaboration skills with an ability to develop strong relationships with key stakeholders
- Excellent attention to detail combined with organisational and time management skills
- Motivational drive to grow and develop your career within the business
- Availability to work rostered weekends and public holidays
