Nestled in the cool climate hilltops wine region, on the beautiful SW slopes region of NSW, our client runs a thriving family-owned business. The mixed farming enterprise consists of an intensive pig farm and feed mill, together with the pastoral land running sheep, cattle, and cropping. Coming from a long line of hard working, community minded and enterprising farmers since the 1940’s, the family are proud to have dedicated themselves to their staff, the community, the animals, and the land. Practicing sustainable farming and caring animal practices, they have a low carbon footprint including recycling waste to produce electricity. Their resulting pork, beef, and wool produce is premium quality, proudly Australian, going to supermarkets, butchers, and restaurants, helping to feed the growing population of the world.

Due to continued growth and reporting to the Managing Director, there is now a requirement for a General Manager – Pig Farm. Key responsibility is to manage the entire piggery (across 5 local farms) and feed mill operation.

This consists of:

• Being a valued member of the leadership team driving the business
• Training, developing, and leading a high-performance & cohesive team
• Develop and implement the strategic plan
• Full financial management
• Driving continuous improvements in pig production
• Leading company biosecurity and animal welfare
• Optimising feed mill efficiency and quality
• Overseeing infrastructure maintenance and extension

We are keen to hear from you if you possess the following:

• Experience and familiarity with intensive animal systems
• Effective people management experience, leading large teams
• Operate proactively with a coaching, leadership style
• Track record of delivering productivity growth
• Sharing the values of ownership, loyalty, fairness, hard work, contribution, and belonging

A generous remuneration package is available for the successful candidate including car, bonus, 4 bedroom house with pool in town.
