Fisheries Research
Ongoing vacancy in Darwin
As a Fisheries Research Scientist your primary objective is to support and provide scientific information to other Fisheries Research Scientists and the Chief Scientist using data collected and collated from field and laboratory work. You will work within a multi-disciplinary team that provides scientific advice to support various fisheries management processes.
The position is based NT Fisheries’ office in Darwin NT, however, the successful applicant will be required to occasionally work in remote locations for periods of up to seven days and be required to work on research vessels at sea. This provides the chance to visit the remote coastal regions of the Northern Territory and work alongside Marine Ranger Groups.
In return, you will receive six weeks recreational leave and three weeks personal leave, 17.5% annual leave loading and an opportunity to develop a career in fisheries science in the NT Public sector.
