The primary responsibility of the Field Services Veterinarian (FSV) is to execute the strategy and tactical plans to achieve business outcomes, drive sales and market share growth. Maximise biopharma and our company’s animal health portfolio opportunities including launches and provide first class technical support to our customers, stakeholders, KOLs and influencers and support the technical needs of the sales regions.

The Field Services Veterinarian will interact with customers on a technical level, deliver presentations at local and national forums, and train sales representatives on the use of technical data during sales calls. The Field Services Veterinarian will also coach sales reps on technical selling.

Of critical importance to the successful execution of this role is the ability communicate technical information effectively to a range of audiences. This includes the development of effective product/industry training programs for appropriate staff. The Field Services Veterinarian will also support preparation of technical tools and provide field technical support to the marketing team.

The Field Services Veterinarian is based in field within their defined territory and reports to the Field Services Team Leader ANZ.

 

What You Will Do

Responsibilities include, however not limited to:

  • Successfully execute the Field Veterinary Services strategy and action plans to achieve business goals
  • Liaise with the sales team to develop and implement territory plans for technical field coverage, including customer visits, provision of best practice technical trainings and presentations, and measurement and achievement of defined key team field metrics
  • Utilise the sales team within territory to influence customers and clients to drive sales and market share growth.
  • Serve as the territory’s technical expert, evaluating regional and individual technical training needs of the sales representatives and coaching sales representatives in technical selling skills
  • Prepare and deliver technical trainings on our products to our veterinary and retail customers and to university and TAFE students
  • Build and maintain effective working relationships with customers and stakeholders (e.g. veterinarians, vet nurses, store managers, etc)
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key opinion leaders (KOL’s) and key influencers (e.g. specialists, vet schools, key accounts etc). to investigate, evaluate / obtain alignment and implement new business opportunities
  • Ensure adoption, best practice use, and value capture of customer relationship tool
  • Represent our Company at veterinary schools, professional veterinary associations and conferences

 

Technical Services

  • Provide technical advice to veterinarians, veterinary and pet retail staff, and consumers on company products
  • Ensure best practice use and adoption of customer relationship tool with respect to case entries for adverse events, quality complaints and technical enquiries
  • Development and implementation of field materials as determined with marketing and the Field Services Technical manager in consultation with the Technical Services Lead
  • Develop and implement market development studies and produce publications to support launches and drive portfolio development

 

What You Must have

Qualifications:

  • A veterinary degree and registration with the NSW veterinary surgeons board is essential
  • Post-graduate qualifications, such as membership of the Australian College, are an advantage

Experience:

  • Prior experience in clinical companion animal veterinary general or specialty practice
  • Experience with companion animal vaccines and parasiticides; industry experience, research experience not essential but preferred

Key Skills & Competencies:

  • Excellent presentation, oral and written communications skills
  • Ability to convey technical information in a manner easily understood
  • Ability to define and implement calendar plans for achievement of aligned metrics including measurement of key performance indicators
  • Competency in MS Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Must be able to work effectively with our customers, stakeholders and sales force
