Job Description

Field Trials:

  • Support the research staff to organise and execute field trial activities. This includes: assisting with pre-visit study preparations (e.g. preparation of study materials, livestock equipment, research documentation and consumables);
  • handling and management of livestock at trial sites (e.g. sheep and cattle); assisting with study-specific procedures (e.g. animal examinations, study assessments and observations);
  • assisting with data capture and completion of study documentation (e.g. recording study observation data, data tabulation, data verification and completion of study-specific records) and general administrative tasks.

 

Research Facility: Support the research staff with various duties relating to management of the research facility. This includes: routine animal husbandry and monitoring activities; and assisting with basic maintenance of infrastructure, grounds and equipment.

Act in accordance with the Eurofins Code of Ethics, and all other relevant policies and procedures, as updated from time to time.

 

Qualifications

  • Experience in: livestock research or industry, a biological science background, a veterinary technician position, or veterinary pharmaceutical industry.
  • Bachelor in Science/Animal Science/Agricultural Science (not essential, but preferable).
  • Experience in large animal handling and husbandry.

 

Additional Information

  • Please note this position is a full time, 12 month fixed term contract.
  • Local and interstate travel is required
  • Current drivers license is required
