We are seeking a positive and proactive Extrusion Plant Operator to join our food manufacturing team within our Bomen manufacturing plant.

The primary role of our Extrusion Plant Operators is the safe and efficient operation of the extrusion plant for the manufacture of Vetafarm's companion animal feeds.

 

This is a hands-on role in a fast paced work environment and includes the following responsibilities:

• Safe and efficient operation of the extrusion plant and associated machinery.
• Assist with machinery maintenance and troubleshooting mechanical breakdowns.
• Accurate weighing and measuring of ingredients.
• Accurate completion of production records.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of systems and processes.
• Perform regular cleaning of equipment and work area.
• Work efficiently and safely as part of a team.

 

Key Criteria

• Mechanically-minded with demonstrated experience operating machinery.
• Reliable, punctual and available to work full-time 36 hours per week, consisting of three 12 hour night shifts, Monday - Wednesday.
• Good physical fitness with safe manual handling skills, and the ability to repetitively lift up to 25kgs (a pre-employment medical must be completed as part of the recruitment process).
• Well-developed communication and interpersonal skills.
• Adaptability and the ability to keep calm under pressure are critical for this role.
• Commitment to the highest quality product output while adhering to FeedSafe requirements.
• Shows initiative and has the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced work environment.
• Must have a current drivers licence and reliable transportation.
• A current forklift licence will be highly regarded.
