About This Opportunity 

We are seeking Primary Care Veterinarians to join UQ VETS' at the Gatton Campus. If you are interested in joining our team in a casual capacity, please apply here. Please note that you will only be contacted if work becomes available that matches your experience and qualifications.

As a Primary Care Veterinarian, you will:

  • Participate in the management of cases presenting to the primary care service, which includes both routine and urgent or emergency cases.
  • Contribute to the afterhours and weekend roster through the primary care service.
  • Participate in the clinical teaching and instruction of undergraduate veterinary science and veterinary technology students.
  • Contribute to clinical training and mentoring of small animal interns and junior clinicians.

This role is subject to The University’s Code of Conduct.

This is a casual position.

An attractive casual hourly rate will be negotiated.

About You  

We welcome candidates from various backgrounds. Those with extensive emergency and critical care experience, general practitioners looking to develop their skills and expertise, and recent graduates who have an interest in continuing their steep learning curve in a supportive environment.

You will have a commitment to providing high quality, relationship centred care to small animal patients and clients and enthusiasm for veterinary education.

You should possess a BVSc (or equivalent) that is registrable in Queensland, together with relevant experience in general practice and/or emergency & critical care.

In addition, the following mandatory requirements apply:

  • Work Rights: You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this appointment to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
