Massey Equine Veterinary Clinic (EVC) in Palmerston North is looking for new permanent full-time or part-time Equine Veterinary Nurses or Technicians.

A diploma in Veterinary Nursing or higher is essential and you can expect lots of variation in this role as you provide nursing and technical support to our veterinary clinicians with equine medicine, surgical, anaesthetic, diagnostic and teaching procedures. Working alongside and supervising our students in providing gold standard care and treatments for our patients will be an important part of this role.

To be successful, you will need to have excellent communication skills and a can-do attitude. The ability to work safely around horses and ponies of all ages and temperaments is crucial; previous nursing experience is preferred but not essential.

You will be involved in teaching veterinary students so you must have a passion for imparting knowledge and practical teaching. The successful candidate must also have a commitment to their own professional development.

The position will involve evening/night duties and on-call work.  You will be expected to work on a roster basis. Full time employment is a nominal 37.5-hour week.  Appointment will be reflective of skills and experience within the Grade 5 range ($56,622 – $80,006).
