West Coast Vets is looking for a casual equine nurse to join our equine team for the 2024 breeding season (starting mid August-approx mid Feb-to be discussed). The position will be approx 20-30 hours per week however this may vary. Located Forrestdale, Western Australia.

 

Key responsibilities

* Oversee care of equine and farm animals

* General nursing activities across the hospital

* Ability to be on call (1/10 weeks approximately)

* Maintenance of high clinical standards (emergency, medicine and surgery)

 

The ideal applicant

This role will suit an enthusiastic and passionate vet nurse. The successful applicant ideally should have:

*Minimum of 1 year veterinary nursing experience

* Excellent horse handling skills

* Exceptional patient care and clinical standards.

* The ability to work independently and within a team

* Self motivated and be able to follow instructions

* Be able to work well under pressure/stressful situations

* Excellent written and verbal communication skills

* Registration as a veterinary nurse in Western Australia

* Covid vaccinated
