Equine Veterinarian and Veterinary Nurse

Scone Equine Hospital Pty Ltd, is seeking applications for the following full-time roles:

 

Equine Veterinarian – Scone/Tamworth NSW and Avenel VIC

The successful applicants will experience Equine surgery, medicine, ophthalmology, reproduction, radiology, anaesthesia, post-operative care, lameness work, yearling radiography, and yearling upper airway endoscopy

The applicants will be involved in the diagnosis and treatment of cases seen on rotation including routine ambulatory, racetrack and supervised after hours work.

Applicants must be enthusiastic, motivated, and keen to make the most of the position in our busy high-profile equine practice.  Our practice boasts a well-established mentoring program and is supported with a strong team atmosphere.

Applicants must have a Veterinary degree and be registered with the Veterinary Board in NSW.  Applicants need 2 years equine or other large animal experience, although small animal practice may be considered towards the 2 years.

The salary range will be between $70,000 to above $100,000.

 

Veterinary Nurse - Scone/Tamworth NSW and Avenel VIC 

 

Duties will include:

The main aspects of this role include (but are not limited to):

  • Providing veterinary nursing care
  • Applying radiographic routines and implement procedures
  • Performing and recording pathology procedures
  • Preparing and provide support for surgical procedures
  • Performing post-operative procedures
  • Nursing hospitalised animals
  • Providing animal care in pain situations under the director of the Veterinarian
  • Preparing surgery schedules, implement surgery preparations
  • Cleaning maintains and store theatre instruments, equipment, and supplies
  • Carrying out post-operative theatre routines

 

Essential Criteria

  • A relevant Certificate or higher qualification or equivalent international qualification, or in the absence of a qualification a minimum of three years professional experience
  • Minimum of at least two years professional equine veterinary nurse experience is required

 

The salary range will be between $70,000 and $80,000.
