Tāwharau Ora, the School of Veterinary Sciences (SoVS) at Massey University invites applications from Senior Practicing Veterinarians in Equine Surgery for TWO opportunities.  Join us as a permanent ongoing staff member or as a flexible fixed-term locum.

About this role | Mō tēnei tūranga mahi  

In this role, you will provide clinical surgery services to clients of the Equine Veterinary Clinic within the Veterinary Teaching Hospital as well as provide lectures, tutorials and case-based instruction to veterinary undergraduates and residents. Participation in research and related scholarly activity is not required, but opportunities to engage in research are available if desired. Depending on the appointment level, you will also contribute to course coordination, clinical roster leadership, academic group leadership and mentorship of staff.

The salary range for this role is at a Senior Practicing Veterinarian grade (2024), ranging from $101,724 - $143,949 (NZD). Salary will be negotiable by background/experience.

 

About you | Ko koe tēnei

If you have experience in equine surgery and are passionate about veterinary education, including clinical teaching, then this is the ideal opportunity for you. The position is suited to individuals with either board certification or eligibility for board certification, although candidates with extensive proven surgical experience will also be considered.

Equine surgical clinical experience is expected, and teaching experience is desirable.

 

You must hold a veterinary degree registrable in New Zealand.
