Goulburn Valley Equine Hospital (GVEH) located just outside Shepparton, Victoria, is widely regarded as one of Australia’s pre-eminent equine veterinary practices providing a wide range of first opinion and referral services.

GVEH wishes to recruit an Equine Hospital Coordinator to join its team of dynamic and progressive clinicians and support staff.

A general description of the role would be:

1. Organising hospital clinical staff, hospital admissions, procedures, discharges etc.
2. Organising staff movements with the aim to make the hospital run smoothly and efficiently and streamline all activities.
3. Assist with the coordination of the ambulatory service.

The successful applicant will have previous experience in the following areas:

• equine experience (horse handling and horsemanship)
• computer skills with the ability to learn and continue to develop usage of the inhouse veterinary practice management software
• High level organisational skills
• Time management skills
• People management skills
• Accurate record keeping and attention to detail
• Appropriate communication skills
• Be a team player but with the ability to work independently
• A willingness to educate and nurture others within the workplace

Whilst some clinical knowledge would be desirable it is not mandatory as this is not a clinical role.
