Canberra Veterinary Emergency Service (CVES) has a fantastic opportunity for Cert IV qualified Veterinary Nurses to join our growing team and start developing their capabilities.

We are an after-hours service operating weeknights from 6pm to 8am and 24 hours on weekends and public holidays, meaning our shift structure comprises of afternoon, overnight and weekend days. Perfect for work life flexibility! Our practice is a purpose-built facility that offers state of the art equipment to work up an array of diverse and challenging cases which you will be taught to handle. No two days are the same at CVES and if you thrive in an environment where you are continually learning and collaborating to get the best outcomes, this is a role for you.

We also encourage CPD by keeping up to date with the most recent literature, attending conferences and are always looking for those nurses who excel and want to attain a higher level of nursing.

 

About You

We are ideally looking for nurses with the below qualities:

  • Qualified (Cert IV or Bachelor) Veterinary Nurse with a minimum of 2 years’ experience.
  • Excellent organisational and communication skills both with colleagues and clients
  • Committed to providing optimal patient care and learning the newest techniques to ensure our patients are taken care of to the best of our ability
  • Have a genuine interest in emergency as your chosen career pathway with the desire to develop your skills in the field of emergency in a supported environment

 

What We Have to Offer

We have positions available in a permanent (60 – 76 hours per fortnight) or casual/locum capacity depending upon availability. We’re willing to work with applicants to achieve a roster that best fits with your needs!

We also offer a competitive remuneration package based on experience and qualifications plus continuing education allowances.
