The Wildlife Victoria Emergency Response Service runs 7 days a week to assist sick, injured and orphaned wildlife. Wildlife Victoria's Emergency Response Operators provide a front line emergency service and are the first point of contact for the public seeking help and advice for wildlife in need. Emergency Response Operators take calls from the community as well as action incoming cases through our online portal; both dispatching trained wildlife rescue volunteers and providing advice to the community.

We are seeking multiple dedicated individuals with excellent communication skills and a genuine passion for wildlife to join our Emergency Response Service team as an  Emergency Response Operator. The contact on offer is a casual contract until 1st April 2023, with potential to extend.

The position requires all shifts to be undertaken from Wildlife Victoria's premises in Abbotsford and comprise approximately 7 shifts over a 2 week rotating roster, with some shifts beginning at 6:30am and others finishing as late as 9pm. Successful candidates must be available to work some weekends and public holidays and a mixture of both morning and evening shifts.

Current or previous wildlife rescue experience and/or environmental or wildlife studies will be highly regarded for the role, together with evidence of outstanding customer service skills and the ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure as part of a team.
