ABOUT THE ROLE
TAFE NSW are seeking an Education Support Officer to work within the Animal Care section based at the Kingscliff campus. The role is responsible for providing tutoring support to learners studying a Certificate II Animal Care, Certificate III Wildlife and Exhibited Animals and Veterinary Nursing as advised by a teacher. However, the role does not include teaching or the preparation of lessons or resources and does not deliver training nor undertake assessments.
In the role, you will work closely to supplement the teaching activities by providing follow-up instruction as provided by a teacher and opportunities to practice skills to enhance the educative experience and engagement.
You will be responsible for the management of the practical space including the setup, assisting teachers during practical activities, pack up of activities and maintaining records.

Crucial to the role will be your high-level interpersonal and communication skills, including your ability to be proactive and show initiative.
To be successful in this role you must:
• Have appropriate subject knowledge, skills and vocational qualifications, such as Certificate II Animal Care, Certificate III Wildlife and Exhibited Animals or Veterinary Nursing.
• Have a minimum of three (3) years relevant and post-qualification experience in the industry relevant to your qualification. With the ability to understand the content of the learning materials and the processes used in the discipline.
