We’re looking for a people-focused leader with a strong background in environmental consulting to lead our experienced Subterranean Fauna team.
The Team
Biologic is based in East Perth and has one of the largest Subterranean Fauna teams in WA. The team consists of a mix of highly experienced senior and principal zoologists, taxonomists, through to motivated graduates. We pride ourselves on innovation and collaboration, employing the latest science to investigate unique and complex problems.
We conduct a wide range of surveys, from large multi team baselines to smaller targeted surveys and conservation significant species monitoring surveys using eDNA. Specimen identifications are conducted by our experienced taxonomists and molecular analysis is conducted by our in-house Molecular Systematics Team. The team also works closely with our Subterranean Fauna 3D Modelling and Impact Assessment team to deliver industry-leading 3D habitat modelling for subterranean fauna.
As well as having a comprehensive pipeline of exciting current and upcoming projects with a variety of clients, the team also has several ongoing research projects, collaborating with industry, subject experts and universities
What you’ll do
As part of the Biologic Management Team, you will spearhead the Subterranean Fauna Team, providing leadership and support to your team to ensure high-quality deliverables. With a focus on innovation and excellence, you will lead by example, using your people management skill sets to mentor staff, and foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development. Your role will also involve cultivating client relationships, identifying new business opportunities, and contributing to the growth and success of our consultancy firm. The successful applicant will play a key role in the development and implementation of the growth strategy for the Subterranean Fauna team.
The successful candidate will need to commit to provide visible leadership and presence over the initial period of engagement with flexible working relationships possible for the longer term.

- Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities to drive growth and expansion.
- Stakeholder Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, including clients, partners, and suppliers.
What you’ll bring
- Hold relevant tertiary qualifications in zoology, biological or environmental science, or other relevant degree.
- 10+ years of relevant ecological experience, preferably in a consulting environment with a least 5+ years in a leadership role
- Well-developed interpersonal and organisational skills, with experience in managing and leading a team, and empowering staff to achieve agreed outcomes.
- Well-developed leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong coaching and management skills.
- Experienced in developing and maintaining positive relationships with a range of stakeholders including clients, and government agencies
