Veterinarian, Equine/Large Animal, School of Veterinary Medicine
The School of Veterinary Medicine at Rowan University is seeking (3) equine/large animal practitioners to join our faculty in establishing a new equine and large animal ambulatory service based in Gloucester County, NJ to cover Southern New Jersey. The selected candidates will provide and manage comprehensive care to equine and livestock patients. The successful candidates will have demonstrated expertise in the medical and surgical management of equine and large animal emergencies and have shared responsibility for providing after-hours emergency coverage. While equine specific and livestock specific candidates will receive consideration, ideal candidates possess experience with both equine and large animal (small ruminant, camelid, bovine, pet pigs) species.
The successful candidate(s) will advance the academic mission of the School through their contributions to clinical service and instruction of veterinary and veterinary technology students as well as house officers. The positions are for Clinical Track Assistant or Associate Professor roles (commensurate with experience). While research is not an integral component of clinical track roles we welcome candidates interested in contributing to the research mission of the institution.
The selected candidate(s) must hold the following:
- DVM or equivalent degree
- Minimum of two (2+) years of experience in equine, large animal, or equine and large animal ambulatory practice (completion of an internship program can count toward one of these years)
- Currently licensed or eligible for licensure in NJ
- USDA Level II Accreditation or completion of required training upon hire
- Valid NJ Driver’s License
The position will become available May 2022. The salary is competitive and commensurate with qualifications and experience.
