The Melbourne Veterinary Specialist Centre (MVSC) is a multi-disciplinary specialist veterinary centre providing services from three locations to veterinary practices within metropolitan Melbourne and regional Victoria.

Job DescriptionThe dermatology department is seeking a veterinary nurse to provide high quality patient care and assist the specialist veterinarians in various tasks. The position requires a high level and quality of nursing skills and experience coupled with the ability to learn new skills quickly and work within a fast-paced environment. The veterinary dermatology nurse will also communicate closely with clients, providing outstanding customer service and assist the dermatologist in various specialist consultations and procedures throughout the day.

This is a full time maternity leave position working 4, 10 hour days per week with a rostered day off. There is a possibility that this role could lead to longer permanent employment.

The role is primarily based at our main clinic in Glen Waverley with branches at Essendon Fields and out clinic services at Frankston. There may be some degree of flexibility required with locations.

Below are some of the responsibilities:

• Intradermal testing for allergies
• Assisting with ear flushes, biopsies, laser surgery, MRI, hearing tests
• Assisting with consultations and discharges
• Client phone calls, emails and follow up

QualificationsThis role would be ideal for a qualified veterinary nurse who is highly motivated, can focus well, has good client and staff relationship skills, works well in a highly skilled team and has experience working in a busy department environment.
