The Opportunity 

Due to an internal promotion, we have an exceptional opportunity for a well versed, passionate and dedicated DC Manager to lead our DC. We run a complex, fast paced and dynamic operation 24 hours a day, 6 days a week. Reporting to our National Ops Manager, you'll come to us with the distinct desire to make an impact, shape an industry and build a first class operation.

 

Your Responsibilities

Our DC Manager will be a hands-on leader who will establish and maintain relationships with our team and drive continued adherence to KPI’s in key areas of the DC. This includes but not limited to safety, inventory control, receiving, picking, packing, and shipping.

 

Operational Excellence: 

  • Manage inbound/outbound activities for the FC, including: receiving, picking, packing, and shipping, across all shifts (AM / PM + Overnight)
  • Drive strategic planning and forecasting
  • Leverage the Operations teams by sourcing and nurturing ideas, and rolling them into the creation of improvement plans for the functional area
  • Develop and share best practices across the shifts and network
  • Create a positive team dynamic that encourages all employees in the FC to provide feedback
  • Implement throughout all FC activities a continuous improvement mindset with a razor sharp focus on the overall customer experience
  • Drive exceptional results relating to safety, quality, cost, and delivery while growing and expanding capabilities within the warehouse
  • Utilize data insight tools to optimize perfect order fulfillment and provide operational insights to improve fulfilment centre effectiveness
  • Strictly manage labour budget to agreed values whilst delivering to set fulfilment metrics, with the aim of reducing errors and ensuring a high-quality customer experience
  • Review and understand the daily reports and produce weekly reports for review by the business
  • Actively contribute to our cross functional weekly trading meetings to present insights and follow through on key operational action items
  • Bring an Operational Excellence and a Continuous Improvement mindset to the business

 

People Leadership:

  • In partnership with our P&C team, you will hire and onboard a team of high performing FC team members from frontline to management
  • Lead and mentor a team of Operational Supervisors and Team Leads
  • Coach, motivate and inspire your warehouse management team to achieve the best outcomes possible for both themselves as individuals and the operation
  • Deliver quality feedback to your team to support tactical decision making and help elevate their capabilities
  • Foster an inclusive and supportive environment where team members feel inspired to perform at their best.

 

WHS: 

  • Champion and promote health, safety and wellbeing across our Fulfillment Centre - leading by example
  • Contribute to our annual WHS strategic objectives and targets which will inspire our team to stretch themselves and go above and beyond to create a safe, secure and productive work environment
  • Implement strategies to reduce safety related incidents and develop our safety maturity level and focus
  • In conjunction with your Warehouse Management team, review all incident reports, conduct root cause analysis, and take corrective actions on a timely basis to reduce preventable incidents and improve our safety processes
  • Operationalise and maintain all CoR practices/ policies/ procedures in line with legislation and operational requirements
  • Support WHS Committee Meetings to ensure effective consultation with all stakeholders and promote exceptional safety outcomes

 

Your Ideal Experience

  • Demonstrated experience driving accountability & results across a complex, highly dynamic DC
  • Experience building, communicating and operationalising key SOPs, workflows, processes
  • Held a leadership role with a brand renowned for delivering world class customer experience
  • Deep understanding of Supply Chain
  • Excellent people leadership skills and committed team player
  • Entrepreneurial and a self-starter - Thinking outside the box to propose improved ways of working, and driving decisions
  • Humble, practical, can-do attitude - Not afraid to roll up your sleeves and do the groundwork associated with leading a high performance team
  • Logical, numerate and leads with insight - You quickly get your head around metrics to understand issues, opportunities and provide insights
  • Tertiary education in business, supply chain management, logistics or similar desirable
