The Commonwealth Department of Agriculture Water and the Environment has appointed Dairy Australia as the delivery partner for the Dairy Export Assurance Program (DEAP) which commenced in December 2020. DEAP aims to streamline the federal and state export audit requirement process. Success in this space will make it easier and cheaper for dairy manufacturers to export their products and improve the way that we give assurances to overseas markets about the safety of Australia dairy. Ultimately this will help to ensure that Australian dairy farmers are able to access a fair price for their milk.

The program will consist of three projects which will run concurrently over 3.5 years. The aim is to improve and modernise Australia’s dairy export regulatory framework and in so doing, increase the number of approved dairy export establishments.

We currently have a six month contract available as an Export Assurance Officer which is an integral part of the DEAP team to work across the three projects which are;

  • Food safety in commercial assurance programs
  • Working toward reduced regulatory intervention through improved data

  • Research, analyse and report in accordance with the project plan
  • Contribute to the smooth functioning of the DEAP Team through active participation in team meetings, and effective utilisation of shared resources
  • Coordinate stakeholder program communication events including workshops and project related communication content
  • Ensure project deliverables are completed within the allocated timeframes and budgets in accordance with agreed project plans
  • Proactively communicate to the DEAP Team any risks to successful on-time and on-budget completion of deliverables
  • Accurately record time allocation to project deliverables for monthly activity invoicing
