Dairy, Biosecurity & Business Resilience Officer
Location: Within Gippsland region (flexibility may be available)

Please note: Due to Machinery of Government changes under Section 30 of the Public Administration Act (PAA), effective 1 January 2023, your employment will be with the Department of Energy, Environment and Climate Action. Corporate Services, including payroll, will be provided by the Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions while a process for the formal transfer of staff in impacted areas is implemented.
The Dairy Biosecurity and Business Resilience Officer position will work within a multi-disciplinary team delivering regional and state-wide services achieving increased economic growth, supporting farming systems and sustainable land management practices for the Victorian dairy industry.
The position will play a key role in the design and delivery of targeted, relevant, and accessible services to dairy farm businesses in collaboration with regional industry and service providers that align to Agriculture Victoria priorities. This includes services that assist farm business to adapt to climate change, navigate and to prepare changes to farming systems, respond and recover from natural disasters and biosecurity events.
The position reports to the Southeast Regional Manager, Dairy Services. The successful applicant will work effectively as a member of a supportive and experienced Dairy team and boarder Agriculture Services team, you will be well connected through a network of state-wide colleagues, undertake a wide variety of work across the division and enjoy flexible working arrangements.
The key accountabilities of the role include, but are not limited to:
- Establish and maintain effective productive network relationships with key clients, including relevant industry and regional natural resource management investors, stakeholders, and collaborators to support project development, delivery, evaluation, and intelligence to ensure effective outcomes for dairy industry programs and across Agriculture Services
- Contribute to the design, delivery of dairy services to farm businesses and industry service providers in priority areas aligned to Victorian government and Agriculture Victoria strategy that addresses needs and gaps in industry risk and resilience
- Provide sound project management support to deliver on the Victorian Government Agriculture Services and Dairy program.
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2026. The work location for this position is Flexible within Gippsland Region with hybrid work arrangements available.
