Job Purpose:
This Customer Development Executive position is both a key contributor to the team and a developmental position with a view to progressing within our business. The role has the responsibility to support sales growth and provide analytical support across our customer base in the following accounts; Veterinary Corporates and Veterinary Buying Groups, Veterinary wholesalers
The role provides support to the Customer Development Manager including category review analysis, monthly health checks, ROI analyses, campaigns implementation requirements, field team execution and priorities.
There is a level of administration work with promotional management including promotional submissions, new product submissions, invoice validation, ATLAS forecasting, ecommerce compliance and support for both internal and external presentations.
The successful candidate will show the ability to be collaborative, demonstrate analytical thinking, develop insights to form compelling stories, demonstrate leadership qualities and show an ability to work under pressure.
The CDE will also be responsible managing their own Vet group customer and shelter partnerships
Key Responsibilities:
Customer Engagement (30%)
- Completing and submitting all required customer templates for for new lines, promotions etc on time & accurately
- Support the demand planning process with the customer & CS&L team to hit DPA goals
- Perform and present customer category review analysis and monthly health checks
- Proactively track online activity, including availability & content
- Actively create analysis, content & stories for external presentations, including JBP meetings
- Clearly communicate field priorities to all FSMs and sales team
- Follow-up from customer meetings
- Managing online content standards via Asst. Category Managers
Commercial Engagement (30%)
- ATLAS forecasting and promotional planning and NPD/line transitions support. Update baselines in ATLAS ( monthly )
- Tracking A&P and GTN spend in line with budget, contracts
- Key analytical interpretation and highlighting opportunities
- Responsive action to make changes driven from Commercial decisions
- Communicating key account activity including pricing and competitor activity
- Collating competitive intelligence insights to assist sales analysis
- Work in field with TMs once/qtr to understand opportunities for improvement
- Own the development & execution of customer specific campaigns
- Actively be part of COGIM
- Ensure all rebates & financial accruals are reviewed & completed
- Ensure promotional execution is best in class, and follow on any issues
Analytics and Insights sharing (30%)
- Analyse and interpret customer data to improve ROI and promotional activity
- Manage the margin calculator tools to appropriately plan promotional investment
- Provide post-promotional ROI analysis promotional activities and provide insights and recommendations on these
- Identify and understand key market challenges/opportunities, as well as establish a robust understanding of the competitive landscape
- Utilise tools such as Tableau and DOMO to gather and analyse data and opportunities.
- Leverage data to be the category expert through deep analysis and understanding of customer and category data
- Understand online tracking tools to track performance of content
- Track new line performance vs target & provide recommendations
Meetings / Presentations (10%)
- Preparing and participating in account meetings, as well as adequately recording necessary follow-ups
- Prepare and present at Field Meetings
- Present at internal forecasting collaboration meetings
Required Qualifications:
- Relevant Bachelor’s degree qualification
- 2+ years sales experience
- Experience collaborating with diverse teams
- Intermediate Excel/Google Suite Skills - Sheets, Docs, Slides & Data Studio
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong analytical skill set
- Vet and Pet industry background highly regarded
- Ability to work in a team environment, collaborating with others to meet customer needs
