About the Role…
Each year the Royal Agricultural Society of NSW (RAS) administers Sydney Royal Competitions with a view to improving quality of livestock, agricultural produce, fine food and wine products in Australia.
This role is 4 days per week for 6 months, and 5 days per week for 6 months.
You will be responsible for the administration, planning, coordination and execution of the Small Livestock (Goat, Pig & Alpaca) Competition and Events which is held annually at the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
As part of this role, you will be responsible for:
- The planning and delivery of competitions and events in a timely & efficient manner
- Working with an established Committee, preparing agendas, attending meetings and taking minutes and actioning items resulting from meetings
- Coordination of competition judging timetables, schedules, officials documentation
- Management of correspondence and records
- Building and maintaining relationships with industry partners, stakeholders and exhibitors
- Budget management
This role does not require you to be an expert in these portfolios however the successful candidate will demonstrate an appreciation and some understanding of each portfolio. In addition, you will be under the guidance of industry experts who will equip you with the necessary knowledge to execute each competition successfully.
About you…
To be successful in this role you would need to possess the following:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in administration and/or events
- Experience in providing Committee support
- Previous experience in event coordination and/or project management
- Genuine interest in Agricultural Competitions and Events
- Demonstrated experience planning activities and projects to a tight deadline
- Previous experience working to and managing budgets
- Ability to manage and address clients (internal and external) concerns in an appropriate and timely manner
- Experience solving complex problems with superior attention to detail
- Have excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills
- Be energetic, committed paired with a positive “can do” attitude
- Be able to work weekdays, weekends and late nights as required
- Be legally entitled to live & work in Australia
