About the role

As Compliance Officer (Animal Management) you will be part of the Animal Management team responsible for the provision of technical support in relation to community compliance, licensing and investigation.

 

Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Investigate and advise on community compliance and licensing issues in accordance with adopted policies and procedures of the Animal Management and Biosecurity section
  • Inspect properties and liaise with property/animal owners with respect to the compliance of minimum standards in relation to animal keeping
  • Investigate complaints concerning alleged breaches of local laws and legislation, enforce legislative requirements in accordance with departmental procedures and policies, and prepare documentation such as notes and reports which may result from inspections or investigation of complaints (providing evidence in court as required)
  • Seizing, capturing and impounding animals, in a safe manner and in accordance with departmental procedures and work instructions

 

About you

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • The ability to safely handle animals and work with animals in environments that animals frequent
  • The ability to take part in and be available for emergency on call roster, outside of working hours and over weekends
  • Current “C” class Driver’s Licence
  • An excellent fit with our values of communication, collaboration, integrity, efficiency and leadership

A pre-employment medical will be required for this role and may require vaccinations to provide appropriate protection within the position

There are two roles, 1 permanent full-time and 1 fixed-term full-time for 12 months, Level 1 - Level 4 with a salary between $60,992 and $91,170 per annum (depending on skills and experience) plus superannuation of up to 12.5%.
