Description
We are looking for a Companion Animal Nurse to work in our companion animal hospital in the idyllic beachside town of Whangamata, Coromandel.
You will work alongside three other nurses, a dedicated receptionist and four vets, to provide the excellent standard of care we pride ourselves on.
We take care of our team and pay well above the industry average. All of our nurses are also paid above the NZVNA wage guidelines and complete their hours over a four-day workweek of 36-40 hours. This means you will have three days per week off, to enable a healthy work/life balance. A part-time role can also be structured if desired.
A recently completed extension to the clinic and our staff break/kitchen areas means you will be working in a modern, comfortable environment. We invest heavily in our facilities and equipment, and you will have everything you need to perform your role in a clinically fulfilling manner.
Whangamata is located within easy driving distance of Tauranga (1h15min), Hamilton (1h40min) and Auckland (2h). Our area is renowned for its beautiful Coromandel beaches, host of outdoor activities and busy café/food scene.
Ideally, you will have some nursing experience, though a new/recent graduate with the right attitude will also be considered. A recognised nursing qualification (for example, DVN) is a must, as we are working toward BestPractice accreditation.
Your role will include:
- Working in a team, and individually, to assist vets during consults and surgery
- Monitoring anaesthesia
- Admitting and discharging patients
- Caring for hospitalised patients
If you are interested in the role, please apply online.
Applications will be considered until the successful candidate has been found.
