We have an exciting opportunity for a veterinary surgeon to join our expanding team as a Clinical Teaching Associate in Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery.
Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery is a core discipline in the clinical veterinary curriculum and final year students rotate through this team as a core rotation in which skills must be assessed as part of the RCVS accredited programme. Farm Animal Clinical Studies covers all production animals and many aspects are required as key Day One Competencies by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.
Working in collaboration with, Clinical Veterinarians, Clinical Training Scholars and the Large Animal Nursing and Technician teams, this role will take responsibility for the teaching of Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery to clinical veterinary students. Specifically to deliver didactic lecture and practical teaching to each of the 1st, 4th and 5th years and also group instruction in clinical aspects of Farm Animal Medicine and Surgery, often with the use of the clinical skills facilities and the University Farm.
You will have completed:
*A veterinary degree registerable with the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons
*A postgraduate qualification in a field of Production Animal Medicine, e.g. DipECBHM or DipECSRHM
You should also have:
*Proven academic interest and professional experience in the field
*Experience of successfully developing and delivering courses/ programmes of study
*An understanding of the requirements of farm animal clinical practice
*Workplace autonomy, negotiation and independence
*Excellent interpersonal and communication skills are required to explain concepts and complex information to non - experts, develop and encourage the commitment to learn in others and to present material to a range of audiences.
