About Us
The Clinical pathology technical support has the responsibility for operating and maintaining the diagnostic service. This group manages the technical requirements that service the needs of the clinic and research.
The Role
The Clinical Pathology Laboratory Technician is required to undertake the preparation of material, running of laboratory machines and preparation and processing of veterinary Haematology, Biochemistry, Endocrinology, Cytology, Microbiological and Parasitological samples.
This position is expected to work variable shifts between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday and
May also be required to participate in a Saturday roster.
What you’ll bring to this role
- Completion of a Science Degree or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
- Demonstrated high level of organisational, time and workload management skills, including the ability to prioritise tasks.
- Highly effective communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, and the demonstrated ability to interact constructively and collaboratively with staff, students and stakeholders, including members of the public.
- Demonstrated ability to use initiative, assume responsibility for tasks and projects and to resolve problems.
- Demonstrated intermediate level of computer literacy and proficiency in the production of high level work using software such as Microsoft Office applications and specified University software programs, with the capability and willingness to learn new packages as appropriate.
