Royal Canin's ambition, to be a thought leader in the veterinary and pet health industry, has led to the creation of this new role of Chief Health Officer (CHO). This strategic position will be the voice of Royal Canin scientific and thought leadership with major customers, bringing insights back into the business to maximise opportunities for pet health outcomes and prepare for emerging challenges.
What would be your key responsibilities?
Ideally based in Melbourne (but we are open to considering other locations within ANZ), the role is accountable for;
- Technical and scientific relationships with all major corporate vet clinics in ANZ, drawing on learnings from the global Royal Canin Chief Medical Officer network.
- Act as voice of scientific thought leadership with all key account customers, including pet health trends.
- Influence veterinary executive teams on the role nutrition should play in their offer and help to operationalise this.
- Share customer and pet health/vet industry insights back to business.
- Collaborate with the Corporate Affairs and ANZ Leadership team on key pet health Issues and the sustainability of the veterinary industry and act as occasional media spokesperson.
- Together with the Advocacy Director and Scientific Services Veterinarian Manager, capture pet health needs and find the next scientific opportunities to develop the portfolio of tomorrow, including services.
- Act as our external veterinary spokesperson and participate in relevant industry forums to demonstrate Royal Canin thought leadership, as needed.
What are we looking for?
- Business and veterinary practice experience preferred, veterinary or scientific background and graduate degree.
- Ideally a qualified and registered veterinarian.
- An experienced senior leader in a scientific area with a good understanding of the specificities of the veterinary business and an expert in animal health and science
- Demonstrated customer focus and strong engagement and relationship building skills.
- A highly capable leader with a high level of influence and gravitas
