Description

About the business

Invetus is the largest veterinary clinical research organisation in Australasia. We operate the Invetus Clinical Network (ICN), where our staff undertake research projects in companion animals.

About the role

We are seeking a casual research Veterinarian, based in Sydney, for an immediate start. Our research projects on behalf of animal health companies enhance animal health via improved medicines and treatments. This is a casual role, approximately 20h per week for 3-6 months. You will be working from home or our inner-West office, and travelling to pets' homes. There can be some flexibility in the days that are worked.

This role will work with existing Invetus research staff and will require you to work with dogs in owner's homes.  You will be responsible for performing physical examinations to ensure the health of animals enrolled in the study, ensuring the study protocol is followed, collecting data, complying with quality requirements, managing adverse events, etc. You will be able to work independently and have a focus on quality and attention to detail. All training on the study requirements will be provided.

Why Invetus?

Invetus contributes to the health and wellbeing of animals by assisting with the development of new medicines and treatments. We are evidence-based, focussed on animal welfare, and very good at what we do.

Skills and experience

You must have a degree in veterinary science, and be registered to practice as a veterinarian in Australia. This role may suit a graduate or semi-retired vet.  Relevant clinical research experience particularly GCP experience will be highly regarded. You will be able to operate effectively in a small dispersed team, demonstrate strong attention to detail, work well to deadlines, and communicate with a range of stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.

Our clinic and pet-owner partners are increasingly requesting that only vaccinated staff visit them; as such, full Covid vaccination will be well-regarded.

You must have a current drivers' licence and access to a vehicle, you must have the right to work in Australia, and you must be a registered vet. If you do not meet these requirements, your application will not be considered.
