About the role:

The Casual Teacher – Biosecurity (animals) provides high quality and innovative course materials and excellent teaching delivery to students including bachelor level biosecurity science students, to:

• support student success in biosecurity science learning outcomes
• ensure BHI compliance requirements are met.

The Higher Education College provide pathways into further education and employment, and help to increase life and employability skills. Full-time, part-time, on-campus, blended, work- based and online delivery options exist to suit the needs of our students and industry partners. Certificate and bachelor level course provide pathways into rewarding career with opportunities for articulation into bachelor and post-graduate studies.

Your Skills and Qualifications:

• Masters level degree or higher in Animal Science, or equivalent relevant professional or practice-based experience

Expertise Requirements

1. Specialised Skills: Demonstrated expertise or experience in teaching or practicing in animal health and diseases, animal production and husbandry, invasive animals or related biosecurity fields is highly desirable.
2. Adult Learning Principles: Experience in planning and researching for the preparation of programs and learning materials, in the identification of setting standards, and well developed skills in transferring knowledge including the ability to research, select, and use a wide range of learning resources and assessment tools that would ensure a successful training program.
3. Compliance Administration: Demonstrated ability to develop a range of complex documents that comply with all relevant quality standards, including course materials, unit plans and assessment tools. Demonstrated proficiency and capability student management systems for attendance tracking, retrieval of student details where required, and resulting.

You will need to provide or be willing to obtain a current National Police Records Check, a Working with Children Check, evidence of your entitlement to work in Australia, and certified copies of your qualifications.

In accordance with the recent public health announcements and the COVID-19 Mandatory Vaccination (Workers) Directions from the Victorian Chief Health Officer, all appointments to Box Hill Institute will be required to provide evidence of COVID-19 Vaccination Status prior to commencing employment.
