Job Description

Eurofins Animal Health Australia (EAH) are currently seeking an enthusiastic and reliable individual to fill the role of Animal Attendant. This position is based at our accredited research facility in Western Sydney (Wollondilly Shire) and is responsible for the routine care of cats and dogs.

Reporting to the Animal Research Facility Manager, the role will focus on:

  • Daily provision of food, water, cleaning and interaction with cats and dogs.
  • Observing animals’ behaviour, and their interactions with people and one another.
  • Implementing health monitoring procedures and routine animal husbandry activities.
  • General facility and equipment cleaning and maintenance activities.
  • Maintaining animal records and assisting research staff, as required.

 

Qualifications

As a key role within our team, the following selection criteria are essential for success:

  • Experience and confidence in handling cats and dogs.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Demonstrated flexibility, effective communication and motivation to contribute to the success of a small team.
  • Willingness and ability to undertake physical work, often outside and in all seasons.
  • Applicants should have a Certificate in Animal Studies (at minimum).
  • Vet nursing experience or qualification would be an advantage.

 

Additional Information

This opportunity is only open to candidates who are eligible to work in Australia/New Zealand, and already have work rights or an appropriate working visa.

This is a casual position with work available on both weekends and week days.
