Description
The Registration Management program manages the pre-market evaluation and registration of pesticides and veterinary medicines. The program draws on scientific evaluation and uses a risk-based approach to determine the safety and efficacy of agvet products. In addition to product evaluation, responsibilities include granting permits, certificates of export and import consents and managing enquiries for pesticides and veterinary medicines.
We are seeking a suitably qualified person to join our team to contribute to the pre-market assessment of agvet chemical products. Under limited direction, the Case Manager is responsible for managing the processing of applications submitted to the APVMA through the registration process, evaluating and processing non-technical applications and the co-ordination of stakeholder meetings.
The Case Manager will possess exceptional communication, administration and project management skills. As a strong communicator, you will have the ability to tailor your communication style to suit the target audience and the ability to proactively manage relationships with internal and external clients. You will be highly organised and demonstrate strong time management skills, including the ability to deal with periods of peak demand and legislative and organisational timeframes.
This position will report to an Assistant Director of the pesticides team.
Core functions
The key responsibilities of the position may include:
- Develop a comprehensive knowledge of the APVMA’s operational policy and legislative framework, and apply this to perform a range of administrative, technical and operational tasks for the processing of registration applications.
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to build positive relationships and to resolve issues in an appropriate and timely manner.
- Interpret legislation, guidelines and requirements to make decisions/recommendations and provide advice using sound judgement, expertise and knowledge on non-technical applications.
- Apply good time management skills to ensure all tasks are completed within set timeframes, while displaying a proactive commitment to working towards meeting team goals and problem solving.
- Prepare correspondence of a complex nature, and assisting in the preparation of reports, enquiries and work instructions.
- Build and sustain positive relationships with team members and stakeholders.
Selection criteria
To be considered for this role you will need:
Essential:
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accurate records and identify issues for investigation and/or correction.
- A demonstrated history of adhering to confidential commercial information provisions at all times, or a demonstrated understanding of the importance of adhering to confidential commercial information provisions at all times.
- Sound oral and written communication skills, including an ability to communicate effectively and professionally with internal and external stakeholders to manage and resolve issues.
- Experience in working in a fast-paced environment while still effectively communicating, maintaining accuracy and time managing to ensure delivery of competing priorities.
- An ability to work effectively in a team environment and contribute positively to team outcomes.
- A sound awareness of notifiable variations as listed in the Ag Vet Chemical Code (Notifiable Variation) Instrument 2019.
Desirable:
- Being at ease with scientific information and communicating scientific information with internal and external stakeholders.
- Relevant tertiary qualifications, certification or demonstrated experience in public or private sector project management functions or a scientific field.
