Central West Local Land Services is currently looking for two people to join the team - people who are passionate about working with landholders to deliver on ground biosecurity and regulatory activities and projects.
The region is home to around 110,000 people and covers the central west slopes region around Grenfell, Forbes, and Wellington to the western plains of Nyngan and Coonamble.
Biosecurity Officer
Located in Forbes, this position undertakes field and regulatory activities for the control of plant and animal invasive species across the Central West LLS region, as well as provides support to the animal health team with sale yard and field inspections as required.
To be successful in this role, knowledge of plant and animal pests and diseases and their management in NSW and demonstrated hands-on and practical livestock handling skills is required. It would also be desirable to have a working agricultural background.

Biosecurity Officer (Animal Health)
Located in Dubbo, this position undertakes biosecurity field and regulatory activities which support the National Livestock Identification Scheme (NLIS) throughout the Central West Region, as well as undertakes surveillance and investigation activities as they relate to animal and plant health and disease control.
To be successful in this role interest in animal health and demonstrated hands-on and practical livestock handling skills are a must. An agricultural background as well as an understanding of plant and animal pests and diseases, stock and station agents, and sale yards would be ideal.
