We have an exciting full-time permanent opportunity for a Biodiversity Officer with 5+ years of relevant experience to join our ESG team based in our stunning Perth office.

Reporting to the Head of ESG, you will play a vital part in the implementation of a world leading Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) Strategy. As part of Harvest Road Group’s commitment to environmental sustainability this role will work closely with all business pillars to roll out sustainability improvement activity with a focus on biodiversity.

This role is to support the environmental sustainability workstream for Harvest Road Group as we strive to cause zero harm to any part of the environment from our operations. Concentrating on the coordination of monitoring biodiversity across our properties and leases, this role will include travel to various sites across Western Australia.

 

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Tertiary qualified or applied experience in a commercial or technical discipline related to Environmental Science, Terrestrial Ecology, Marine Biology, Environmental Management or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of  experience in a similar role.
  • Demonstrated track record of biodiversity monitoring including previous program planning and team management experience
  • Geographic Information Systems (GIS) mapping and remote sensing experience
  • Highly developed analytical skills and the ability to present complex issues
  • Excellent communication both verbal and written
  • A high level of organisational skills and attention to detail
  • The ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
  • The ability to work autonomously, problem solve and work with ambiguity
  • Rangeland monitoring experience (desirable)
  • The ability to effectively lead and inspire across functional teams that focus on delivery, accountability, and performance excellence
  • Understanding of pastoral land legislation (desirable)
