Description
Are you looking for a genuinely mixed practice that provides an exceptionally high level of care to its patients and offers best practice options?
At Heartlands Veterinary Hospital our mission is to create a centre of clinical excellence in the Avon Valley and wheatbelt region for all animals, both large and small. As part of a small local community we have a close and trusting relationship with our clients. We are a team who work hard together but also have fun in the process and we all help each other out when the going gets tough!
The position is full time and will be based primarily at the York Hospital but will involve some work at the Brookton and Toodyay clinics. Our brand-new purpose-built hospital in York is state-of-the-art and has been designed to ensure not only maximum comfort for our patients but also a beautiful space to work in. The building boasts separate cat and dog areas, outdoor consulting areas, an oxygen chamber, under-floor heating in our dog runs and much much more!
We service a large area of the wheatbelt, providing both in-hospital care for small animals and horses, as well as an ambulatory service which will allow you to get out into the fresh air and explore the beautiful Avon Valley. We are a truly mixed practice, offering huge variety in our caseload. We provide an afterhours emergency service which sees an incredible array of ECC cases. If you want more variety than itchy dogs and vaccinations then we are the practice for you!
The salary range offered, commensurate with experience, is $75 000 - $110 000 per annum. In addition to this the after-hours remuneration is well above what is usually offered to associate vets, offering a significant bonus to the base salary. Included in the salary will be one week of paid CPD plus four weeks of paid annual leave.
The successful applicant will require a Veterinary Degree registerable with the Veterinary Surgeon’s Board of Western Australia.
We are looking for someone with excellent communication skills, who works well with a team as well as independently when required. The successful applicant will need to be able to perform consultations and veterinary treatment (medical and surgical) on all animals commonly seen through a mixed practice (depending on level of experience).
