Murdoch Veterinary School educates veterinary science graduates who are focused on development of core clinical competencies and prepared for lifelong professional success. The Animal Hospital at Murdoch University (TAHMU) is a vibrant, innovative, multidisciplinary teaching hospital with a large, growing caseload. State-of-the-art diagnostic equipment is available on-site, including a 1.5T MRI, multi-slice CT, fluoroscopy and a range of flexible and rigid endoscopes. The medicine section is supported by a team of specialists across multiple disciplines including surgery, dermatology, diagnostic imaging, anaesthesia, emergency and critical care and clinical pathology and a busy primary care service. Resident training in multiple disciplines and a collaborative approach between clinical sections, across the university and with other institutions support a strong centre of clinical research
The Role(s)
Murdoch University and the Veterinary School at are currently undergoing extensive restructuring, and this represents an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic small animal medicine team. We are looking for enthusiastic and skilled small animal medicine clinicians to join the current team to expand the clinical referral service in small animal medicine, engage in resident training, and teach within the veterinary science programme. The appointees will be expected to provide leadership in clinical work, teaching and research related to small animal medicine, with flexibility to negotiate duties and responsibilities. The Hospital is keen develop new clinical services and directions, and the acquisition of additional skills in teaching or research will be strongly supported.
The successful candidates will have a degree in Veterinary Science registrable in Western Australia. A clinical specialist qualification (DipECVIM-CA, DACVIM) or FANZCVS) is required. Applicants must be experienced with clinical work at a specialist level and be able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team. A high level of written and oral communication skills and experience in teaching at the undergraduate or postgraduate level are also essential. Additional postgraduate qualifications in research or teaching are ideal.
We currently have x 2 exciting opportunities available to join the prestigious School of Veterinary Medicine at Murdoch University. The first position is across an associate professor (level D) and a senior lecturer (level X). The second position is across a senior lecturer (level C) and a lecturer (level B).
