Applications are invited for a permanent post of a Associate Professor in Small Animal Surgery x 2 within School of Veterinary Medicine.
The Section of Small Animal Clinical Studies of the School of Veterinary Medicine in UCD has created two permanent posts to support the continued growth and strategic planning in the small animal surgery area.
The appointment is available at Associate Professor grade, subject to qualifications and experience of the candidates. The UCD Veterinary Hospital includes state of the art equipment including CT, MRI, interventional radiology, full endoscopy and arthroscopy, Laser and a radioactive iodine suite.
Ancillary supports include rehabilitation and physiotherapy. Applicants must hold a degree in veterinary medicine registerable with the Veterinary Council of Ireland or a specialist degree with which an application for limited registration with the Veterinary Council (see www.vci.ie) could be made.
The successful applicant must be an active specialist in Small Animal Surgery with European (ECVS) or American (ACVS) board certification. The successful candidate will contribute effectively to the Section and the UCD Veterinary Hospital and in particular, will participate fully in undergraduate (clinical) teaching, in postgraduate residency training, and in the Small Animal Surgery service provided by the Hospital.
The successful candidate will also engage in original collaborative national and international research leading to publications in peer-reviewed journals, obtaining funding and fostering collaborations, both nationally and internationally.

Appointment will be made on scale and in accordance with the Department of Finance guidelines
