About the role

The Registration Management program processes and evaluates applications to register products, permits and active constituents and manages the interface with clients. It is responsible for undertaking scientific assessment to ensure that agvet chemical products used within Australia are safe and effective.

The Assistant Director is responsible for conducting evaluation planning and performing quality peer review within the Pre-Evaluation and Quality team. This will involve providing specialist advice on the key risk areas necessary for the successful assessment of complex product variation and registration applications and applications that seek pre-application assistance for agricultural chemical products.

The successful applicant will be required to:

  • Supervise and managing staff, and liaise with other senior staff to manage work flow and resource allocation
  • Analyse, evaluate and apply risk assessment and management principles to the assessment of complex scientific and/or technical information
  • Provide expert advice on the interpretation of data, scientific reports, policies and procedures
  • Exercise delegations and responsibilities while ensuring adherence to legal requirements
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to resolve issues in an appropriate and timely manner

 

About you

To be a strong candidate, you will need a well-developed working knowledge of the regulation of AgVet chemicals in Australia and highly-developed analytical and problem-solving skills. You will demonstrate the ability to interpret data, scientific reports and exhibit strong written and oral communication skills. With strong management experience, you will demonstrate experience in conducting peer reviews, mentoring staff and managing team priorities.

Relevant tertiary qualifications or relevant experience are also an essential criteria.

The role provides generous pay and conditions, including $114,204.00 to $128,605.00 plus 15.4% superannuation.
