Description

The Long Island University College of Veterinary Medicine (LIU-CVM) in Brookville, New York, invites applications from self-directed, innovative and motivated individuals for a full-time or part-time, clinical or tenure track faculty position in veterinary skills. Veterinary skills includes both clinical and professional skills. The successful candidate will be expected to participate in and or lead veterinary skills laboratories according to their expertise. Thus, candidates with all levels of expertise and experience are encouraged to apply. The position may be filled as Assistant or Associate Professor and may select either clinical or tenure track options. Successful candidates will primarily be engaged in the College’s educational and service activities. Responsibilities will include clinical and didactic teaching in veterinary skills courses which may include working with LIU-CVM partners/affiliate veterinary hospitals. Successful candidates are expected to promote LIU-CVM’s overall mission of enhancing veterinary medical education through a commitment to teaching, academic excellence, research and service to a variety of stakeholders.

Active engagement in curriculum development, identification or creation of innovative learning resources, committee service participation (such as admissions, curriculum, research, etc.) is expected of both clinical and tenure track faculty. All faculty are expected to contribute to the overall research and scholarly goals of the College of Veterinary Medicine as time and interest allow.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have a DVM or equivalent degree. Specialty boards and advanced degrees are preferred but not required. The ideal candidate will have working knowledge of curricular design and implementation. S/he/they will have the proven ability to promote a culture of diversity, equity and inclusiveness and will interact well with University administration, the veterinary education community, faculty, staff, students, and alumni.
