Department of Primary Industries, Biosecurity and Food Safety are currently seeking a Aquatic Veterinary Policy & Project Officer to join their high performing and highly dedicated team!
- 8 month temporary full time opportunity
- All NSW locations considered
- Offering a salary range from $67,975.00 - $130,553.00p.a. + superannuation

The Department of Regional NSW (DRNSW), NSW Department of Primary Industries (NSW DPI) Biosecurity & Food Safety division is responsible for effective management and risk minimisation of biosecurity threats to NSW as well as the through-chain regulation of food safety. It delivers a risk-based approach to policy and compliance and provides regional engagement and coordination in response to emergency incidents impacting primary industries and the food sector.
The Aquatic Veterinary Policy & Project Officer undertakes a range of policy analysis, reporting, research and project activities to support the delivery of projects, policy, standards and procedures in aquatic biosecurity (pest and disease). Implement contemporary evidence based aquatic biosecurity policy to deliver outcomes in support of biosecurity objectives. The role liaises extensively with other Branches within DPI and with stakeholders in other state government agencies and industries.

Essential requirements
- Degree in Veterinary Science and registered to practice in NSW under the Veterinary Practice Act.
- Experience in biosecurity risk management.
- Current NSW Driver Licence.
