We are looking for a new team member to join our dynamic technical team. You must love aquaculture and have a thirst for learning. This is a hybrid work arrangement where you can work from home or onsite at various farms.

Responsibilities: 

  • Clinical services to clients (aquaculture and ornamental fish)
  • Assist with project management for animal welfare specific projects
  • Assist with project management for clinical trials and on-farm trials e.g. vaccine trials, feed trials
  • Participate in providing advisory services for fish health teams and production facilities in health management
  • Develop health management and biosecurity management plans including risk assessments
  • Develop responsible farming standards with NC team and undertake internal auditing for biosecurity, welfare and production systems
  • Assist in the development of software applications where required
  • Implement surveillance plans for commercial clients
  • Conduct commercial research and development projects (practical)
  • Disseminate knowledge to the fish health teams that we work collaboratively with

 

Ideal candidates should:

  • Have a veterinary degree (BVSc or DVM) which is registrable in Australia OR a bachelor's degree in science, Marine Science or Marine biology and equivalent experience in aquaculture
  • Have experience with production facilities, life support systems or research facilities
  • Have 3+ years' experience in aquatic animal health or similar field
  • Be able to use microsoft office and in particular proficient in excel and R programming language
  • Have excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Have excellent analytical skills
  • Be flexible for travel and work hours
