As an Animal Welfare Specialist at ALDI, you will have the unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the organisations animal welfare practices.
Be the driving force behind the organisations animal welfare policies and processes, collaborating with stakeholders and establishing systems to ensure compliance with our standards.
Leverage your experience to implement and monitor animal welfare requirements across ALDI’s supply chains, ensuring adherence to our animal welfare policy. This is a full-time permanent opportunity, based in Minchinbury.
What does the role look like?
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to drive the implementation of ALDI’s animal welfare policy.
- Monitor and provide advice and guidance to ALDI stakeholders on animal welfare developments, legislation, and industry changes.
- Support the development and implementation of animal welfare policies and processes within ALDI.
- Establish robust implementation, monitoring, and reporting systems for animal welfare requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance.
- Analyse and interpret data to report on ALDI Australia’s animal welfare policy, fostering transparency and accountability.
- Conduct risk assessments on animal welfare issues, prepare relevant reports, presentations, and materials, and present findings to internal and external stakeholders.
- Manage and nurture relationships with relevant NGOs, certification bodies, and industry associations to promote responsible and ethical animal welfare practices.
- Engage with International Sustainability teams and other ALDI countries on animal welfare topics, sharing best practices and driving continuous improvement.
What do we need from you?
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders to drive the implementation of animal welfare policies and practices.
- Proven track record of monitoring and providing informed advice and guidance on animal welfare developments, legislation, and industry changes.
- Experience in supporting the development and successful implementation of animal welfare policies and processes.
- Ability to establish and coordinate the implementation, monitoring, and reporting systems for animal welfare requirements, ensuring ongoing compliance with relevant standards.
- Proficiency in analysing and interpreting data to create insightful reports regarding animal welfare policy and practices.
- Proven ability to support, coordinate, and direct external consultants in alignment with animal welfare objectives and initiatives.
- Strong capability in performing risk assessments on animal welfare issues and managing relationships with relevant industry associations.
