About the business

Invetus is the largest veterinary clinical research organisation in Australasia. We operate Wongaburra Research Centre (WRC), based in the Northern Rivers region of NSW, where we undertake companion animal pen studies. We deliver high quality, independent research on behalf of animal health companies, which enhances animal health via new or improved medicines and treatments.

About the role

We are seeking an individual to join us as an animal technician. This is a casual role, approximately two days a week including some weekend work, with the possibility to work more hours to meet project requirements when needed. We aim to give employees set shifts each week, but some flexibility in working days is required to meet fluctuations in our workload.

Technicians care for our permanent colony of dogs and cats by cleaning pens, exercising dogs, feeding animals and observing their health. They participate in research studies by accurately collecting and recording data and contribute to the scientific outcomes of individual research projects. They may occasionally assist the team with veterinary care and routine health procedures.

Why Invetus?

Invetus contributes to the health and wellbeing of animals by helping in the development of new medicines and treatments. We are evidence-based, focused on animal welfare, and very good at what we do. Many of our clients bring repeat work, and we are constantly seeking new areas of business. We invest in our people and processes and set clear priorities.

Skills and experience

This role requires a minimum Cert III qualification in Companion Animals, Veterinary Nursing, or similar. Computer literacy would be advantageous as we use digital programs to manage work assignment.

You will be able to operate effectively in a small team, work collaboratively, and communicate well with your colleagues. You will have excellent attention to detail, a strong work ethic, and work well to deadlines. The role is based near Casino, NSW.

You must have unrestricted rights to work in Australia, and you must have a current Australian driver's licence. If you don't meet these conditions, your application will not be considered.
