About the role:
To teach Animal Studies as well as other related courses to our passionate students. You will be responsible for planning, developing delivering and assessing the quality vocational education and training in a range of learning environments within the assigned programs. Organise and deliver theory, practical, flexible and field based classes in specialist Animal Studies subject areas including animal health, basic care of animals, breeding procedures, monitoring animal health and wellbeing.
Duties:
Teaching:
Develop, maintain and evaluate student learning programs, projects and associated materials.
Assessment:
Conduct required pre-training assessment reviews and assessment requirements connected to contract delivery for the program/s.
Industry Engagement:
Participate in the marketing and promotion of the courses by liaise with industry contacts, networks and learning communities.
Quality and Compliance:
Assist in the development and maintenance of quality assurance processes in relation to program and course administration, design, delivery assessment and evaluation of training materials.
Vocational and Industry Currency:
Identify, create and participate in professional development relevant to teaching and the maintenance of vocational currency.
Skills and experience required:
Mandatory:
- Appropriate post-secondary qualifications together with relevant and recent industrial experience.
- TAE40116 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE 40110) including Design and Develop Assessment Tools (TAEASS502) and Address Adult language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) skills (TAELLN411) or (TAELLN401A)
- Demonstrated understanding of adult learning principles, teaching methodologies and a demonstrated high standard of teaching practice; and a commitment to learner-centred teaching.
- Current Working with Children Check
Desirable
- Ability to teach and facilitate delivery of specialist Animal Care subjects and related courses to groups which may have a diverse range of abilities, backgrounds, and readiness. Ability to use a variety of teaching modes and materials including flexible and field based delivery. Excellent machinery operation skills essential
- A thorough knowledge of current industry practices and procedures with a demonstrated ability to initiate and maintain liaisons within the Animal Care Industry
