Animal Shelter Assistant required to work on a temporary basis

Situated to the east of Melbourne, this Gippsland-based Local Council is known for its rural scenery and natural environment.

Your new role

Situated at the municipal pound, this Local Council has a requirement for a temporary Animal Shelter Assistant to assist the team on a temporary basis. Some of the tasks and duties of the role include looking after the welfare of the animals, cleaning cages, disinfecting cages, feeding animals, lifting animals and may also entail transporting animals to the vet.

What you'll need to succeed

You will have experience working with animals and have well-developed and competent animal handling skills. You will also be able to demonstrate a professional work ethic, self-motivation as well as good interpersonal skills.

You will also have a current driver's license.

What you'll get in return

This temporary requirement is for approximately 6 months and you will have the opportunity to work in a supportive team environment.
