The Role
Reporting to the Companion Animals Team Leader, and based in Mulgrave, the Animal Shelter Assistant is a varied position consisting of both administrative tasks and hands on tasks such as front counter operation, cash handling, feeding animals and cleaning kennels. The Animal Shelter Assistant will liaise with animal welfare groups and be responsible for daily transactions within the facility.
About You
You will have studied / be studying an animal related discipline and have a passion for animals and animal welfare. You will have excellent communication and customer service skills, you will be self motivated and have the ability to work autonomously. You will have demonstrated administration / clerical experience supported by sound computer skills.
Essential Criteria
- TAFE / College Animal Handling Certificate or equivalent experience
- Data entry / Computer skills
- Administration / Clerical experience
- Ability to handle / control companion animals
