In April 2023, we welcomed the delivery of a new high-precision Varian TrueBeam® radiotherapy system with integrated software, treatment regimens and safety features.
BVSC is the only small animal hospital in Queensland with a linear accelerator and we are very excited to be able to bring the very best from human health to animal health.
You will join an experienced team of RTs who come from roles in human medicine.
As an RT in a veterinary hospital you will have the benefit of working with both photon and electron treatments for a diverse range of palliative and curative cases.

- Both planning and treatment
- Worked with intensity-modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and rapid arc delivery (BVSC use Eclipse Treatment Planning and Aria Information System)
- Bachelor of Applied Science Degree in Medical Radiation Technology or equivalent qualifications recognised by AHPRA in Radiation Therapy (please note that registration with AHPRA is not required)
- QLD EPA licence to use ionising radiation apparatus
