About the role

The position is based in Milton, Queensland and reports to the General Manager of the Feed Division. The role offers the opportunity for an experienced animal nutritionist to formulate finished feeds and supplements for all Riverina sites, whilst actively contributing to the management of animal feeding practices in conjunction with customers and sales staff.

Whilst our Head Office is based at Milton Queensland, for an exceptional candidate a flexible remote working arrangement would be considered.

Your key responsibilities are:

• Involving your skillset in the design, costing and formulation process for Riverina feeds, according to set specifications and raw material availability.
• Supporting our mills with formulations, on farm visits, innovation, guidance, education and cooperation.
• Building relationships with external consulting nutritionists to implement their formulations as required.
• Providing specialist advice on the nutritional and feeding information on our products to Riverina Sales Managers and customers, inclusive of supporting material.
• Attending relevant conferences, to expand your knowledge and discuss with your peers new ideas and technologies within the industry.
• Assisting in the development and presentation of educational programs to customers.
• Creating and developing new products as well as improving existing products through scientific field and trial work.
• To work within your team of like-minded people and achieve common goals.

Our Ideal candidate will possess the following:

• A University Degree in Agriculture, Rural Science or similar.
• Extensive knowledge and experience in Format or other formulation software for both ruminant and mono-gastric feeds.
• Strong practical on-farm experience, with the ability to offer holistic solutions to customers.
• Resilience – be able to resolve problems as they arise, making informed decisions and acting quickly.
• The ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Experience in trial work and the development of new products and improvement of existing.
• Excellent attention to detail and high level organisation and multi-tasking skills.
